The CAMERON SCOTT SUSPENSE SERIES Is published by Coastal Highlands Press in Southeastern North Carolina. The primary character, Cameron Scott, practices law on the North Carolina coast, in the fictional town of Riverport, which is modeled loosely on the actual town of Southport, NC. The nearby fictional city of Whitington is patterned after Wilmington, NC, a growing film capital. Most of the Cameron Scott adventures take place in the Old North State, which has been home to the author since he graduated high school in New Jersey and entered North Carolina State University for a degree in Recreation and Park Administration.

The author spent several years as a North Carolina State Park ranger, in various parks in NC, and then entered law school at Campbell University School of Law, which was located in Buies Creek, NC at the time, but has relocated to the capital city of Raleigh. Law school graduation led to practice in Southport until retirement in 2020.
